Above is a lesson we had to celebrate the letter G. Above is the story The Gummy Candy Counting Book. To the right is a bar graph that I made to go along with the activity after reading.
Inside the book, we counted each page to show our 1:1 correspondence and connecting the numeral with each object.
At the end of the story we even talked about different ways to make sets of 12!
Pictures above and below shows the extended activity that I worked on with students either one on one or in groups of two. They were given a bowl of mixed gummy bears that they had to sort and organize based on colors. After sorting, they counted how many they had of that set. We wrote the number down and compared numbers. We decided which gummies had the most and least!
